Question. Is Minecraft for Windows 10 really free if you already own Minecraft for JAVA? If so, how do I get my Windows 10 Minecraft product key?!

Answer. Yes, if you were an early purchaser of Minecraft, you can redeem a gift code for Minecraft for Windows 10 for FREE (normally around $27!) Here are the steps:

1. Login to https://account.mojang.com/me
2. Look for the Minecraft for Windows 10 heading under 'My Games'
3. Click the Redeem button
4. Follow the steps on the resulting screen by logging in with your Microsoft ID (the same account that you use for Windows 10)
5. The code will be redeemed and linked to your account, so you can now download Minecraft for FREE from the Windows 10 app store! 🙂

MCD-2173 'buy now' appears even tho i have bought it already. Resolved; MCD-2281 I have bought Minecraft dungeons but all it says is 'buy now' Resolved; MCD-2368 When I bought Minecraft Dungeons and wanted to start the game, I couldn't because it says I had to buy the game. You purchased Minecraft: Java Edition after December 1st 2020 and logged in using the wrong account type. If you purchased after that date you MUST use your Microsoft account to login. Your purchase of Minecraft was made under a different email address, or the email address has been changed.

Voila, you now have the product in your MS account!

I Already Bought Minecraft But Can't Download

The Minecraft Dungeons launcher is not detecting that I have already purchased Minecraft Dungeons. The Windows store shows that I have purchased it, but I do not want to install/download through the Windows store. I pre-ordered Minecraft Dungeons back on 5/17. I have already verified the following:

I Already Bought Minecraft Java

1. You can log in to minecraftdungeons.net using your Windows account you used to purchase the game - Yes
2. Click your user name, then Profile - Yes
3. It says you have purchased the game - Nope
4. You have downloaded Minecraft Dungeons Launcher - Yes
5. You have logged in to the Minecraft Dungeons Launcher using the above account - Yes
6. Your Minecraft Dungeons Launcher version is at least 2.1.14931 (Click Settings > About) - Yes
