MineVille
IP: server.mineville.org
Average Online Player Count: 500
We cannot express how incredible this server is. It may not be as big as some of the other servers, but from its beautiful custom texture pack to the unique game modes it features, MineVille is unlike any other Minecraft server out there. Play with friends or alone in one of two unique versions of Skyblock: One with a water theme and one with a fire theme. It has an active survival server called Kingdom Survival and will be introducing Empire Survival, another variant soon. It also features an amazing Among Us clone called imposter that truly feels like you are playing a first-person among us game. It also has a Prison game called Asgard Prison and a newly integrated Anarchy server. There are 6 portals marked ‘coming soon.' We are already impressed, and it seems that so much more is to come.
Wynncraft
IP: play.wynncraft.com
Average Online Player Count: 2,500
Ever wanted Minecraft to be transformed entirely into a fantasy MMORPG? Grinding, dungeons, resource gathering, stories, NPCs, and quests. Team up with friends in guilds and fight bosses, and explore a grand universe of fantastical towns, cities, and more. The server is structured in the style of a giant adventure map and will not have much building. You can, however, choose your class and craft your gear and weapons.
Hypixel
IP: mc.hypixel.net
Average Online Player Count: 150,000
Hypixel is steadily going to make it on just about every top 10 list out there, and for a good reason. It's the biggest Minecraft server out there, and really it has set the standard in so many ways. In general, Minecraft servers that are active have somewhere between 300 and 9,000 players online at a time. Hypixel is the only server out there that regularly has 6 digits of players online. Play a bunch of different major games like BedWars, SkyWars, VampireZ, Paintball Warfare, and an arcade full of smaller minigames. You will never be bored on this server, and it almost stands on its own as its own game.
Complex Gaming
IP: hub.mc-complex.com
Average Online Player Count: 1,500
Complex Gaming is a true hub for Pixelmon, the Pokémon-inspired Minecraft mod. They have subsects of the server inspired by several different Pokémon games, from Pokémon Red through Pokémon Platinum. To play Pixelmon, you will be to have the Pixelmon mod for Minecraft. That said, unlike most Pixelmon servers, there are a bunch of other game modes on the server that do not requires players to install any mods, like the standard Skyblock, Survival, Factions, Creative, and Prison.
Havoc MC
IP: mc.havocmc.net
Average Online Player Count: 300
Originally known as ‘The Mining Dead,' Havoc MC is the server to go to if you want to find yourself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse survival game. Their game based on the AMC television show The Walking Dead is the main draw to the server. It has PvE, but you can also choose to team up with friends or fight other players in PvP. That said, it is not the only game on there anymore (thus the renaming). There is now Towny and Warzone, and two more games are coming soon: Mine Wars (a Star Wars inspired game currently in exclusive beta to premium members) and Craft Theft Auto.
Datblock
IP: play.datblock.com
Average Online Player Count: 750
Some players may argue that Datblock doesn't really deserve a spot on this list, and they may not be wrong, as it's a pretty standard server. It gets a pretty good pool of online players each day, but the game modes are all pretty standard. It did make the list because it's just a good, steady place to play factions. There aren't so many players on at a time that it becomes impossible to get started, but there are enough players that you still need to be cautious and careful about where and when you claim and build. Other than factions, Datblock also has basic draws like creative and survival and its own unique PvP game called Datearth.
The Hive
IP: play.hivemc.com
Average Online Player Count: 3,000
If you are looking for a solid, extremely active minigame server, The Hive is the server for you. This server has been around since early 2013 and has since remained a low-key staple of online Minecraft play. It has remained up-to-date and active all of this time, and they are always updating features and adding new games like BedWars, BlockParty, and Hide and Seek. This server also has the Bukkit plugin featuring the Meowball. You can use a customized Blaze Rod called a FunGun that shoots out snowballs that explode into flames, and hearts will have the ‘meow' sound effect on impact known as Meowballs. While it's not hard to install meowballs on your server, this is the biggest server that allows it for all players. Throw them in the air, or at your friends, or anywhere you want to in the main server hub.
Fallen Kingdom
IP: play.fallenkingdom.co
Average Online Player Count: 200
Ever wish that Minecraft was actually a tower defense game? You can explore what that would look like on the Fallen Kingdom Minecraft server. Inspired by the Fallen Kingdom universe, created by popular YouTuber Jordan Maron (CaptainSparklez), this server allows you to choose your kingdom's colors and build different raid paths. One downside is that you have to choose whether you are a King or a Queen, making it both unwelcome to nonbinary players and awkward for players who may share an account with a person or people of different genders. Hopefully, a third ‘Royal' option will be added in the future, but the game itself is well made and a lot of fun. The lower player count isn't a worry either, since the entire server is just one game.
CubeCraft

CubeCraft
IP: play.cubecraft.net
Average Online Player Count: 5,000
If you are looking for a bigger, active server, but Hypixel is just too much for you, Cubecraft is a fantastic alternative. Its custom texture pack has slick designs for the lobby, and all the game modes can be selected from a section the is reminiscent of a retro game arcade. It features games like Lucky Islands, CTF, and its own original take on the Among Us/hidden role style game called Among Slimes. Note that this game mode is unique to CubeCraft, different than the Imposter game on MineVille. This server is usually in the top 5 most active servers in the world. Book of life sims 4.
ManaCube
IP: play.manacube.net
Average Online Player Count: 2,500
At a glance, ManaCube may just seem like another rather active minigame server, but its biggest pull by far is actually its Parkour. Its Parkour section alone, on average, has around 750 players in it, as active as some other servers are as a whole. There are over 1000 Parkour course total and vary from easy maps all the way up to near impossible ones. Only 42 maps are VIP only, and the server also has Dropper, which falls into a similar category. It should be said that the one downside to ManaCube is it can be glitchy at times, more so than the rest of the servers on this list. That said, the content within was too good to pass up on.

Today I'll share my experience with running the latest official Minecraft Bedrock server software Alpha 1.8 installed on Microsoft Windows, as well as setting it to launch at system startup.
I love games, but my attention span is about an hour long. I love super in-depth RPG games for about 8-24 hours of game play. Then I lose interest; however I just keep coming back to Minecraft. I first bought it in the Alpha stages and loved the concept of the game. I could build, dig, fight, play online with others. That's the cool part of this game. When PE came out I was excited but the features were limited for years so I stuck to my Java edition.
Once Bedrock edition linked mobile, Xbox, and Windows 10 platforms I was determined to get a server up and running without Realms.
I tried with PocketMine server and it worked but I didn't have any animals or mobs. Then I stumbled on the official Minecraft Bedrock server software which at the time was Alpha 1.7.
Needs
- Server software from the official Minecraft website (download the server software for Windows)
- A separate machine to run the server software or virtual machine would also work. (You won't be able to connect to your server from the same machine)
- Knowledge of port forwarding if you want to access your server from outside your network
Installing in Windows is super easy! After you install the Visual C++ redistributable unzip the downloaded server zip file somewhere you'll remember like your desktop.
Inside the extracted archive you'll find several files:
- bedrock_server.exe – the file you'll execute to start the server
- Server.properties file- double click this file and you may need to tell Windows to open it with Notepad
To get started in configuring your server I would suggest reading the ‘bedrock_server_how_to file in the server directory- this file tells you exactly what all of the options do in your server.properties file. Basically you'll change a couple lines to tell the server what difficulty, and what style of game-Survival or Creative. You can also change the seed of the level etc.
[Solved] Minecraft Outdated Server - Minecraft Could Not ..
Once your server config is complete you can run your server, double click bedrock_server and you should see a command prompt window open showing something like below, if it pops up and closes right away you don't have the Visual C++ installed.
You may also get a blue warning window stating that ‘Windows Protected you PC'– just click on more info and then click run anyway- this will pop up just once.
Once you see the above command window (Black one with white text) you can minimize or leave it be– DO NOT CLOSE this window, it must be left open for the server to run.
Pulling up your local Minecraft client you should see your server in the ‘Friends' tab on your Xbox or Nintendo Switch as long as the server is running on the same network. I've had mixed success with the server showing under friends on my iPhone or Minecraft for Windows 10. If you don't see your sever you'll want to add it under the servers tab in Windows 10 or on your mobile edition of Minecraft. Note- console versions of Minecraft don't support adding server addresses.
Can I Play On The Hypixel Server On Windows 10 Edition ..
If the server doesn't show under the friends tab tap or click on Servers and then click ‘Add Server' enter in the address of your server on your network- Complete the next steps on the server machine (you need to know the server machines IP address) you can find this by opening a new command prompt window- Start– type CMD and enter- at the command prompt type ‘ipconfig' in the text that follows look for whatever connection is there– possibly a wireless adapter, or if you're connected via ethernet then ethernet adapter. Your IP is a set of four three digit numbers, usually starting with 192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.0.x.x as the prefix. In this image below our server IP address would be 192.168.0.16
Once you've got your server showing in Friends or under the Server tab just tap it to join and play. -That's pretty much all there is to it! If you're interested in having the server start automatically at the run prompt enter ‘Shell:Startup' and drag and drop a shortcut to the server file there. That way each time Windows boots and you login the server will run automatically.
I Can't Find .minecraft Folder Minecraft For Windows 10 ..
The hardware I'm running my server on is an Intel NUC with a Celeron N3050 CPU, 4GB of ram with Windows 10 Pro, pretty paltry specs. It's actually a re-purposed Bevy photos unit I've tinkered with in a previous article. The machine works really well as a Minecraft server, with a single user online load average is about 20%, upon a user joining and loading a world CPU usage jumps to about 60% for a short time then normalizes again. Any modern Windows PC with a Passmark score greater than ~800 should be able to host a two player server without issue.
